Bird Watching

A couple weeks ago, I tried to take some pictures of Keaton. But since he is officially a crawler, it was a challenge. He would not still for longer than two seconds, so I got plenty of shots of him shuffling away. Finally, I threw a chick stuffed animal in front of him, and snapped this picture while he was studying it.

Crouching Tiger

I love this picture of Nathan, I think because it is so "him". Outside our house, we have these bushes that Nathan loves to tromp around in. They are nearly as tall as he is (and who knows what creatures are hiding inside), but he loves to climb through them. When Ryan or I call for him to come inside, he charges straight through the bushes. I think he knows that he can maneuver through them quicker than Mom or Dad can, and it gives him an edge in his attempt at an escape.

Daddy's Boys

I think if I could pick a time when I am the happiest, it is when I am watching Ryan with our boys. No exception, it melts my heart every time. I don't know what it is... something about seeing this big guy kiss ouchies and play cars on the floor just makes me smile.

Every day, Nathan sits in the windowsill waiting for "Daddy's Green SUV." There are even days when he is in the windowsill, with hours to go until Ryan gets hom
e, and he refuses to gets down. He just wants to wait for Daddy. And then the look in his eyes when he sees Daddy pull up. He jumps down off the windowsill, runs to the door (practically tripping over his feet), and opens the door with a "Hi!" and a HUGE smile.

And Keaton gets so excited to see Daddy, and loves to be held. He seems to love being perched in Ryan's arms. Kind of like it is a safe place from which to watch the world. These are my favorite pictures of Ryan and Keaton.

View From Above

Our sweet boy Nathan. Just thinking about him makes me feel teary-eyed and giggly at the same time. He is 2 years old, but was born with the soul of an old man. He is always thinking, studying things, asking questions... trying to prove me wrong. This picture was taken at an Easter party. Even though he is excited to be up in the tree, he was so nervous. Not too sure that he was ready for the view from above. He is always letting me know that he is a big boy. But he still looks relieved when I remind him that he will always...always...always be my baby.

An Introduction

Hi! Well, here we are... the first White Family blog. And since he wouldn't be caught dead blogging (ha), I will start by introducing Ryan, the greatest guy a girl could want. He makes me laugh until I cry, challenges me to be my best, and is my soft place to fall. I sometimes wonder where I would be if my life had taken a different turn. I can't, for one minute, imagine not having him in my life. He is my friend, and my partner in this crazy, wonderful thing called parenting. We just hang on tight to each other and enjoy the ride.
